IT’S A GIRL!
First MarinHealth baby of 2022 arrives at 4:52 a.m. on January 1!
A girl born to parents John and Caroline Quillinan claimed the title of First Baby of the Year at MarinHealth Medical Center.
The 7 pound 8 ounce baby was born at 4:52 a.m. on Saturday, January 1. The parents named the baby girl Clara. She is the second child of John, age 32, and Caroline Quillinan, age 29, who are natives of California and Texas respectfully.
“Such a bright start to a new year,” beamed father John Quillinan on the birth of baby Clara.
“It was my honor and very exciting to help with the delivery of the first baby of the new year here at MarinHealth,” said Becky Pfaff, RN.
“The opportunity to be with families during this time is a blessing and a benefit of maternity nursing,” said Anne Lupus, Director of Maternity Services at MarinHealth Medical Center. “This year we have experienced an increase in deliveries, going from an average of 100 births per month to 140 per month. Our families love giving birth in our new Oak Pavilion and it is rewarding to be a part of the beginning of these young family’s lives.”
Since the opening of the Oak Pavilion in the fall of 2020, 1,746 babies have been born at MarinHealth Medical Center, the only hospital-based birthing center in Marin.
