Free Community Health Event: Adolescent Eating Disorders: What Steps Can You Take?
MarinHealth is pleased to share an upcoming seminar on behalf of the Marin Healthcare District, focused on Adolescent Eating Disorders
Eating disorders affect more than 30 million people in the U.S. It’s a serious condition that impacts all genders, races, and ethnic groups, and it can negatively impact one’s health, emotions, and ability to function in all areas of life. Most eating disorders involve focusing too much on weight, body shape, and food, leading to dangerous eating behaviors that can harm the heart, digestive system, bones, teeth and mouth, and lead to other diseases.
The good news is that with proper treatment and early intervention, your child can return to healthier eating habits and reverse serious complications caused by eating disorders.
On Wednesday, May 24, please join our special guest, Erin C. Accurso, PhD, for a special seminar focused on adolescent eating disorders. At this seminar, our special guest speaker Dr. Erin C. Accurso will discuss the challenges that our children face in their daily lives, what to watch out for and how you as a parent can help shape their eating habits. This event will take place both in-person and virtually via zoom, and will start at 5:30pm. This event will be catered; light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Register for your spot at the seminar, by filling out the following form by May 23.*
