Media Statement Regarding the National Union of Healthcare Workers One-Day Strike

MarinHealth has been informed of the planned one-day strike by the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) at MarinHealth Medical Center on Tuesday, April 16, from 6 a.m. through Wednesday, April 17, at 6 a.m. To our surprise, NUHW has chosen to give a strike notice despite the Hospital’s continued effort to bargain in good faith. Nevertheless, we will continue active negotiations with the NUHW on the remaining few issues, primarily pertaining to compensation, to see if we can reach an agreement that is satisfactory to both parties.

We greatly value our employees and the tremendous work they have done and continue to do for MarinHealth and our patients.

I want to assure our patients that it will be business as usual at MarinHealth. We will make the necessary arrangements to ensure that there will be no disruption to the quality or availability of care they are accustomed to receiving.
