Candice Becker-Schwarm, CNM
Candice Becker-Schwarm, CNM is honored to be a part of the MarinHealth Team. Candice completed her midwifery training at Yale University in 1997 after earning a Master's Degree in Public Health at UCLA, with a focus on International Health. Candice has worked in many practice settings in her career, including community health clinics, county health departments, birth centers, private hospital practices, large health management organizations and international volunteer work. She is increasingly interested in what makes a health system function equitably and well.
Candice considers it a privilege to be with parents during such a transformative time in their lives, and she is passionate about helping birthing people to feel empowered by their experience. Candice has a great respect for the diversity of cultural approaches to birth and health in general and is endlessly fascinated by how this plays out in the clinic and hospital. She believes in a model of shared decision making with her patients since they are the experts regarding their own bodies/lives.
Outside of work, Candice loves to be in the outdoors, especially hiking and surfing with her daughter and dog. Her other hobbies include knitting, salsa dancing and yoga.
