Cheri J. Forrester, MD,FACFM

Dr. Cheri Forrester is a Board Certified family medicine physician who has been treating patients in Marin County since 1985. The daughter of a rocket scientist, she grew up in southern California. Dr. Forrester won undergraduate Honors at the UC Santa Cruz, studied for two years at UCLA towards a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, and then graduated from Medical School at University of California, San Francisco in 1981. Dr. Forrester served her residency in a UCSF program at Valley Medical Center in Fresno before establishing her practice in Marin County.

Town and Country and America’s Top Doctors named Dr. Forrester one of America’s leading family physicians and San Francisco Magazine listed her as one of the Bay Area’s Outstanding Doctors. A readers’ poll by J voted her the best primary care physician in Northern California. U.S. News (2011) and Marin Magazine (2012-2020) both selected Dr. Forrester as a “Top Doctor”. Conversant in Spanish, Dr. Forrester provides comprehensive primary care to adolescents and adults.

Dr. Forrester is a member of the Kol Shofar congregation and lives in Mill Valley with her husband, writer David Harris. She is committed to social justice and personal health, does volunteer work in the community, hikes on Mt. Tam, swims, runs trails, practices yoga, and backpacks regularly.
