Joy J. Victor, MD
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and eventually made my way to Brooklyn, NY to complete my residency training and formative years as a teaching attending and Firm Director at Maimonides Medical Center. Prior to joining Marin Hospitalist Medical Group, I worked at Seton Medical Center in Daly City, CA where I also served as a physician champion for the rollout of the electronic health records application Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager. I’m also currently an Assistant Clinical Professor with UCSF and have privileges at several hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area.
My practice philosophy is to provide empathy to patients and families in what is undoubtedly a very stressful time in their lives and to provide a smooth transition from admission to discharge. I chose Internal Medicine as a specialty because of its intellectual slant. I’m here to provide quality care and guide patients in making medical decisions, being respectful of their beliefs and cultural backgrounds. I believe that patient education and open lines of communications are key to developing a good doctor-patient rapport and building trust. I have a professional interest in electronic health records, specifically developing order sets to improve patient care and reduce medical errors. My personal interests include watching the NBA and spending time with my family.
