Visitation Guidelines

MarinHealth Medical Center – Patient Visitation
LEVEL 1

• Adult Patients:
  2 healthy visitors
• Pediatric Patients:
  2 healthy visitors

If the waiting room is full, visitors may be asked to wait outside or in another hospital visitor lounge until the patient is roomed.

Adult Inpatient
(Cardiac, ICU, PMC, Medical & Surgical)

• Visitors per day:
  No maximum
• Visitors at bedside:
  2 at a time
• Overnight visitor: Maximum 1 person, if pre-approved by the unit

• Visitors per day:
  No maximum
• Visitors at bedside:
  2 at a time
• Overnight:
  1 parent/guardian

Visitors per day:
No Maximum (must wait in designated visitor lounges, unless invited back by staff)

• Visitors per day:
  No maximum
• During labor: Determined by patient & care team
• Overnight (after labor): 1 support person (no children)

• Visitors per day:
  No maximum
• Visitors at bedside: 2 at a time
• Overnight: 2 parents/guardians

LEVEL 2A

• Adult Patients:
  1 healthy visitor
• Pediatric Patients:
  2 healthy visitors
  (Parents / Guardians)

If waiting room is full, visitors may be asked to wait outside or in another hospital visitor lounge

Adult Inpatient
(Cardiac, ICU, PMC, Medical & Surgical)

• 2 healthy visitors per day (In double rooms: 1 visitor per patient when both patients have visitors)
• No overnight visitors: Only allowed under extenuating circumstances

• 2 healthy visitors per day
• Overnight: 1 parent/guardian

• 2 healthy visitors per day (includes the father / partner / support person)
• During labor: 2 support people + 1 pre-approved doula
• Overnight (after labor): 1 support person (no children)

Visitors must enter hospital before Main Lobby closes: 7:30pm Monday to Friday, 6:00pm Weekend/Holidays

All siblings of a new baby (from same household) are allowed to visit. Example: Grandma can bring in the baby’s brother and sister at the same time

LEVEL 2B

1 healthy visitor in the exam room only. No visitors in waiting room (must wait outside)

Pediatrics allowed 1 visitor in waiting room (and some patients with specific caregiving needs)

• 2 healthy visitors per day (In double rooms: 1 visitor per patient when both patients have visitors)

Patients with specific caregiving needs may be permitted a visitor in the waiting room (if necessary)

• 1 healthy visitor per day
  (In double rooms: 1 visitor in the room at a time - please trade off)
• No overnight visitors

• 2 parents / guardians (on visitor list for duration of hospitalization)
• Overnight: 1 parent / guardian

1 support person allowed 24/7 + 1 pre-approved doula during labor (only)

LEVEL 3B

No visitors

Exception: Pediatric patients allowed 1 parent/guardian.

• 1 healthy visitor per day
  (In double rooms: 1 visitor in the room at a time - please trade off)
• No overnight visitors

• 2 parents / guardians (on visitor list for duration of hospitalization)
• Overnight: 1 parent / guardian

1 support person allowed 24/7 + 1 pre-approved doula during labor (only)

• Adult patients: No visitors
• Pediatric patients: 1 parent/guardian

Visitors allowed only for patients with specific caregiving needs.

Adult Inpatient
(Cardiac, ICU, PMC, Medical & Surgical)

No visitors

1 parent / guardian allowed 24/7 (2 parents / guardians can switch out)

An escort may be granted for elderly/disabled patients

1 support person allowed 24/7 + 1 pre-approved doula during labor (only)

Visitors allowed to switch every 24 hours if needed
