Outpatient Care
Our hospital-based Outpatient Care combines a variety of approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other treatment modalities. Treatment may include group psychotherapy, education for life management, stress reduction education, medication management, and weekly one-on-one treatment with a psychiatrist. The therapeutic focus is on symptom relief, problem solving, and improving the person's ability to function independently. Loved ones are an important source of support for patients, and we encourage family involvement in treatment planning. Family therapy is available as requested or indicated.
Transportation for Older Adults
We can arrange transportation to and from central or southern Marin for older adults (55+) participating in our hospital-based outpatient programs.
Insurance
The length of treatment, which varies from a few weeks to a few months or more, depends on the individual’s completion of treatment plan goals and insurance authorization. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is covered by private insurance and Medicare. Many supplemental insurance policies, including Medi-Cal, provide secondary insurance coverage.
Referrals
We welcome referrals from physicians, families, healthcare professionals, agencies, or self-referral. Admission into the programs required a psychiatrist’s orders and supervision. Attending psychiatrists in the program will work with the patient’s outpatient team and/or provide psychiatric care to patients in the program.
