Co-occurring Behavioral Health & Substance Use Disorder Program

Co-occurring Behavioral Health & Substance Use Disorder Program

The combination of behavioral health and substance use issues is especially challenging for both patients and healthcare providers. This program addresses both issues simultaneously and provides structured, intensive therapy through small group interaction.

Our multidisciplinary team consists of licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrists, and psychiatric registered nurses. Using an approach called Motivational Interviewing, our team meets patients where they are on their road to recovery. This program is designed for adults 18 and older who are experiencing increased mental health symptoms but are able to maintain their current living situation. Our goal is to help patients identify their own goals and plan for recovery so that they can achieve stabilization and avoid relapse.

As a robust alternative to hospitalization, our program includes:

  • Patients attend three structured treatement sessions each week (Monday-Friday) from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
  • Four daily groups
    • Check-In/Symptom Inventory
    • Psychotherapy
    • Skills Group (Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
      Mindfulness)
    • Recovery/Relapse Prevention
  • Individual/family and treatment planning and discharge planning sessions
