2014 CoC Breast Cancer Report
The Marin Cancer Institute at Marin General Hospital is a Commission on Cancer accredited facility. Accreditation is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and which undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. In exceeding all seven standards of care considered for special commendation, Marin Cancer Institute has earned Gold level designation for our cancer outcomes.
One of the ways patient care is reviewed at Marin General Hospital is by utilizing Commission on Cancer quality reporting tools, appropriate to patients treated by our cancer program each year to verify they are being treated according to nationally accepted measures. The measures included in the Cancer Program Practice Profile Reports (CP3R) graphs below are endorsed by the National Quality forum. These results show the appropriate treatment was provided as set forth in these site specific national guidelines. Marin General Hospital’s exceptional results demonstrate the dedication of our medical staff and interdisciplinary care team to provide high quality care to our patients.
Much has been written about the high incidence of breast cancer in Marin. What isn’t as well known is the tremendous success that the Cancer Institute at Marin General Hospital has treating breast cancer right here at home. Our early detection rates are on par with those of the top academic medical centers.
