Lauren Oemcke, BSN, RN, CDE

Lauren Oemcke is a Registered Nurse and Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at MarinHealth Medical Center. Lauren was born and raised in New England where she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Lauren always dreamed of working with people with diabetes since she herself was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of 18 during her freshmen year of college. Her own diabetes care and education specialist not only empowered her but inspired her to want to do the same for others living with diabetes.

Before pursuing her career as a Diabetes Specialist she worked as a bedside nurse for three years to gain a solid nursing foundation. She is grateful for her time as a bedside nurse and feels it has helped her gain a better appreciation of well rounded, patient-centered care. She is passionate about helping people with diabetes live their lives to the fullest and never letting it stop them from going after their dreams.

Outside of work Lauren enjoys playing with her pet cats, reading mystery books, and going to concerts.
