Leticia Santos, RN, CDE

Leticia Santos started her Nursing Career in Sonoma County at Sonoma Valley Hospital as an ICU floor RN. After that she worked as a bedside Nurse in the Medical Unit at MarinHealth Medical Center while she was also working per diem as a RN at Marin Community Clinics. In her Nursing Career, she always enjoyed working as a Preceptor for new employees and Nursing students. She believes her experience as a floor nurse helped her to see different aspects of patient care. While working as a bedside RN, Leticia identified that many patients were in need of chronic illness education, such as diabetes. She then joined the Inpatient Glucose Management Team and became a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.

Prior to becoming a Nurse, Leticia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Brazil. She also worked as a Paralegal in San Francisco and Marin County. Leticia speaks Spanish and Portuguese and is passionate about working with ESL patients. She is very happy to be a part of the Braden Diabetes Center inpatient diabetes care team.

Outside of work, Leticia enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to travel, walk on the beach on a sunny day, and watch a good movie.
