Gastroenterology Procedures
Endoscopic procedures
Our specialists offer a full range of endoscopic treatments:
- Dilation of narrowed areas called strictures and placement of stents to keep narrowed areas open.
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Removal and destruction of polyps and other lesions
- Removal of gallstones
- Treatment of bleeding
- Upper GI endoscopy
Non-endoscopic procedures
Non-endoscopic gastroenterology procedures include:
- Breath tests to diagnose conditions such as lactose intolerance and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
- Colonoscopy
- CRH O’Regan hemorrhoid banding
- Liver biopsies
Radiology
Our doctors frequently order imaging, including barium studies, ultrasound, CT scanning, MRI and nuclear medicine studies. Where your procedure is scheduled will depend on the type of procedure. Something as simple as CRH O’Regan hemorrhoid banding can be performed in our offices. More complicated procedures may be scheduled at MarinHealth Medical Center or at the Endoscopy Center of Marin.
Please arrange to have someone to drive you home after ANY procedure requiring anesthesia. DO NOT DRIVE YOURSELF!
