Partner Referrals
A Referral Program that Always Refers Back to You
When we refer a patient to a specialist, it’s not a handoff: It’s an off-site collaboration between that specialist and your care team at the Men’s Care Program. Our partner referral program is designed to make that collaboration as smooth as possible and address all of your medical needs.
Cardiology
Our team collaborates with MarinHealth Medical Network experts in Cardiovascular Medicine specializing in interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, structural heart disease, and advanced heart failure. They offer a complete continuum of heart care, from heart health education, prevention, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and testing services through advanced treatments, and cardiac rehabilitation, including the Ornish Lifestyle Program for reversing heart disease. We refer patients to the Cardiovascular Performance Center, which focuses on heart health, safety, and performance issues for adult professional, recreational, and occupational athletes.
Endocrinology
Endocrinologists specialize in conditions relating to the endocrine system, such as diabetes, glycemic issues, gland disorders, and hormonal imbalances. We refer to specialists in the MarinHealth Medical Network for Diabetes & Endocrine Care when needed. The Braden Diabetes Center is also a key resource. This breakthrough program takes a step-by-step approach to diabetes education, support, and help with self-management. Braden Diabetes Center is the ideal place for a newly diagnosed patient to learn how to travel well through life with diabetes.
Orthopedics
The orthopedic surgeons we work with have extensive experience with joint replacement surgery and are known for their excellent outcomes. They perform surgeries at MarinHealth Medical Center, which is known for its robust joint replacement practice, excellent surgical outcomes, and complimentary educational Joint Program. This innovative class covers hip and knee joint replacements, step-by-step, with visual aids including a slide show, anatomical models, and actual hip and knee implants.
Cancer
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the five most common cancers among American men are lung, colorectal, bladder, melanoma, and of course, prostate cancer. There are multiple approaches to treating this common malignancy and our urologists collaborate with oncologists and other experts to determine the best strategy for each individual. We work closely with experts from MarinHealth Cancer Care to give our patients convenient access to a full range of sophisticated treatment options and advanced technologies.
Behavioral Health
As part of our goal of caring for a man’s overall health, our team is sensitive to potential mental or emotional issues. We refer to MarinHealth’s Behavioral Health Program for depression, bipolar illness, thought, mood, anxiety, and mental illness combined with substance abuse (dual diagnosis). Behavioral Health offers three hospital-based Outpatient Programs. Partial Hospitalization provides comprehensive treatment during the day, with patients returning to their homes in the evening. Intensive Outpatient care consists of one to three sessions a week. The third program is Dual Diagnosis, an after-hours offering for people with mental illness and substance abuse issues.
Rheumatology
As you age, it’s only natural to experience some aches and pains when you move. A good orthopedist can address some of these, but if the condition affects the joints, ligaments, tendons, or muscles, we refer you to MarinHealth Medical Network experts in Rheumatology. The most common conditions requiring the expertise of a rheumatologist include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), lupus, ankylosing spondylitis (AS), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), Sjogren’s syndrome, gout, and scleroderma.
Additional Services
Our care philosophy focuses on every aspect of your health and wellness. Depending on your needs, you may be referred to a registered dietitian nutritionist, sleep clinic, physical therapy, smoking cessation program, acupuncture, chiropractic care, pain management, or even couples counseling.
