As part of our ongoing strategic alliance, MarinHealth and UCSF Health
work closely together on a variety of pediatric programs to deliver advanced
specialty care for North Bay children, close to home. Parents can access
services through our MarinHealth Medical Network Pediatric Care Clinics,
and through MarinHealth Medical Center.
Pediatric Care Clinics: We offer five locations in the North Bay to provide expert pediatric and family care, including an after-hours care clinic.
Pediatric Diabetes Care: Care for kids with diabetes can be very complex, requiring frequent monitoring and changes to correspond with the child’s growth. To provide the finest pediatric diabetes care, MarinHealth collaborates with the UCSF Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes. This gives patients local access to endocrinologists and specially trained pediatric nurses and dietitians who are also certified diabetes educators. UCSF Health experts work in our Braden Diabetes Center as part of our Childhood Diabetes Program to provide outpatient education and support for our young patients.
Prenatal Care: Our relationship with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital allows North Bay families to benefit from the resources and knowledge base of one of the nation’s preeminent pediatric hospitals. UCSF Health perinatologists work in the Prenatal Diagnostic Center in Greenbrae, enabling women with high-risk pregnancies to get the extra monitoring they need close to home – and deliver their babies at MarinHealth Medical Center.
Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU): If a baby is born pre-term, or with special health needs, MarinHealth Medical Center is well equipped to handle almost any need with our Level II NICU. It’s staffed around-the-clock with an in-house pediatric hospitalist who specializes in neonatology (the care of newborns). The care team also collaborates with the infant's pediatrician and we consult with the UCSF Neonatology team 24/7.
Pediatric Outpatient Surgery: Pediatric patients can receive specialized surgeries close to home, at MarinHealth Medical Center, performed by UCSF Health surgeons. Specialties represented include ear, nose and throat procedures, along with urologic and plastic surgeries.
